After graduating with a postgraduate degree in tax and business law from the University of Bordeaux I in 1987, Lionel Caquinaud obtained a certificate of specialisation in company law in 1996 and a certificate in tax law in 1998 from the CRFPA in Bordeaux.

He began his career at Fidal, where he worked for 15 years as a consultant in tax and corporate law. In 2006, he joined Brunel & Associés as a partner, where he remained until the firm merged with Morvilliers Sentenac in 2014.

His advisory work, combining his two areas of specialisation, covers four types of services:

-         assistance to the accounting departments of mid-sized companies and SMEs with their tax reporting obligations (tax returns for integrated or non-integrated groups, CVAE, etc.),

–        issuing tax recommendations and, where appropriate, proposals for secure solutions (tax rulings), tax and legal audits prior to complex restructuring operations (mergers, partial asset transfers, sale and acquisition of securities, etc.),

–        drafting of agreements (merger agreements, partial asset contribution agreements, transfer and acquisition of securities, liability guarantees, shareholders' agreements, etc.),

–       providing wealth management advice to company directors (business transfers, implementation of Dutreil agreements, etc.).

His work defending the interests of companies takes two forms:

–        assistance with tax audits,

–        contentious tax claims and monitoring of the proceedings before the administrative courts.
